Respond to this discussion minimum 300 words:
What do you think are the vulnerabilities of border security? What reforms might enhance border security?
Respond to this classmates post minimum 100 words:
I think the vulnerabilities of border security includes outdated fencing, barriers, and surveillance systems that can be exploited by individuals seeking to enter a country illegally. Maintaining and upgrading physical infrastructure is very essential. Properly trained personnel are essential for effective border security because inadequate training of border patrol agents can create vulnerabilities. Also, border patrol agents or customs officers, in facilitating illegal activities can also create vulnerabilities in border security. Reforms that might enhance border security could be addressing the underlying causes of unauthorized immigration, creating more efficient and accessible legal pathways for immigration, such as expanding visa programs, and assessing and upgrading physical infrastructure, such as fencing, barriers, and surveillance system.
