RULE-GOVERNED BEHAVIOR: Read the section called Rule Governed Behavior (pp. 435-449). –OR if you have a hard time making yourself read 14 pages, you might start with Personal Rules in Self-Regulation (pp. 441-447). Making rules is often an effective way of controlling our behavior. You can make rules about big things (“I will always take care of my sister;” or “I will always vote.”). You can also make rules about relatively little things (“When I walk into the apartment after work, I will not sit down until I have picked all the clothes in my bedroom.”) Read about rule-governed behavior and then write about an experience you’ve had. Or talk about your experience using rules to control the behavior of others.
Remember to use at least 8 sentences in your initial response and 5 sentences in responding to your classmates, and remember to check carefully for spelling, grammar, or punctuation errors.
