Analyze a conflict episode from a power lens – Description

Part 1 
View two or more of the following film clips representing individual agency in conflict episodes. Then, reflect on conflict through the lens of power.  
You will then select one clip to analyze from a power lens, drawing from concepts and terms in readings. The analysis should be equivalent to at least one or two good paragraphs double-spaced and demonstrate familiarity with the readings.
Consider this week’s objectives when framing your analysis:  
identify the principles and types of power in a conflict episode.

Part 2 
1. Explain what is meant in CAR when we talk about ‘frames’.
2. This week, pay attention to the stories you tell yourself and/or the stories you hear from others. Focus on how conflict stories are being framed. This focus should be on small conflict that you encounter on a daily basis. For example, you may be driving and someone cuts you off. You find yourself creating a ‘story’ around this incident. What type of frame emerges from your story? Or, listen as someone talks about what happened at work or how they feel about their boss… any situation that occurs in which you hear or telll a conflict story.
3. Analyze the framing of the story. Refer to this site from required readings when responding. Included should be a specific type of framing and an explanation for why you feel that frame characterized the story plot. Examples include identify frames, power frames; characterization frames; risk and information frames; loss vs. gains frames; conflict management or process frames as well as others.
