SOC 202 JJCCJ Criminal Justice Predominant Parenting Styles Discussion – Description
Just like the last few weeks: There are two options:
1. Pick any ONE of the “Problems and Projects” assignments that you can see at the end of the chapters from Waller and Hill concerning Parenting. Pick one that involves some library research for journal articles, including the Selected Readings directly previous in the Waller and Hill chapters. Use the John Jay library to search the electronic databases, such as JSTOR, for these articles. And/or find more recent journal articles to read and cite. Or if you can’t find one, then let it be based on empirical, personal research.

2. Look at the following chart, and, in an essay, explain the causal connections between these correlations:Fully define and explain all these terms. Then go on to answer the following two questions:
1.What about the exigencies and pressures felt by the middle class, dictates they follow the strategy and parenting style that they predominantly do?
2. What about the exigencies and pressures of the working class, dictate a strategy of ANG, and an authoritarian style of parenting
Finally what strengths, and problems, do these strategies and styles create for chidlren as they grow into adulthood? How is the narcissist adaptive for success in the corporation? How is the rigid personality a good fit for workers? How aren’t they good for those who adopt these character styles? Why are these styles the result of middle vs. working class strategies and styles?
