Practical Task
You will be asked to explain your research strategy, present your literature and
defend your selection criteria in a viva style presentation format. You will be
responding to one of the topics and questions below. These will be the same
topics and questions that you will base your literature review on for your 4000
word report. The literature you select and present will also form the research
base for your literature review. In your viva, you will be expected to present the
following:
1. Your research strategy
2. A brief synopsis of each of your literature sources, including the aim,
methodology used (if appropriate), and key findings.
3. The rationale for the choice of each source and its relevance to your
research project.
The viva will take a maximum of 7 minutes. You will be assessed on your ability
to demonstrate an understanding of research strategy and methodology, defend
and explain your choice of literature, and your clarity of expression.

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
LO1. Identify a specific project area for investigation that is relevant to current
health and social care practice.
LO2. Identify, select and justify the use of appropriate techniques, methods and
strategies to gather relevant data and evidence to investigate the project topic.

evidence for your assessment.
