WU Requirements for Documentation in Social Work Practice Discussion – Description
This week’s reading addresses the major principles of documentation. Social workers are required to document all actions for legal, ethical, and moral concerns for the client and for the protection of the social worker. Agency policies and ethical standards help the social worker decide what should and should not be included in the record. Other standards to consider are those related to confidentiality and anonymity of the client. And, of course, proper writing skills and grammar in your documentation ensures that what you intend to communicate is understood by the reader.
In this Discussion, consider the requirements for meeting the standards for ethical and legal documentation.
