1. Choose an organization: Delta Airlines
2. Locate and summarize the information about the company’s diversity efforts, identifying diversity programs and policies that articulate the company’s vision and mission.
3. Articulate how the selected organization showcases and values diversity. Feel free to review the company website for information, as well as other public documents and publications. For example, locate information on the company’s executive (c-suite) leadership and board of directors and share to what extent the company conveys leadership diversity and/board diversity. In addition, also identify how specific functions or departments such as human resources, marketing, supply chain focus their efforts in conveying the importance of diversity as a core organizational value. Report your findings in broad statements (e.g., a statement like “About two-thirds of the board of directors is male” is adequate for this assignment).
4. Reflect upon your findings. Specifically, describe whether or not you think the company’s leadership is a reflection of its diversity efforts. Why do you think this is? What does this say about the organization?
