University of North Carolina Wilmington Module 02 – Collaborative Discussion – Description
(7th Grade and english language arts!)After reviewing the interactive, collaborative tools, describe which tool you would incorporate into a lesson? Describe the lesson, grade level and where you are in the lesson in a few sentences. Next discuss the tool you would use and why this would be the best tool. Within that context, describe the purpose of using the interactive tool. Are you using the data? If you are not using the data, why? Example: This is for a 10th grade developmentally delayed class in English. We have been reading Moby Dick. Each day the students get vocabulary words for the next chapter. We are half way through the book. I will use Socrative to review the vocabulary words up to this point. Since the students are developmentally delayed, answering the questions quickly is not important. What is important is whether the students know the definition. I can use this information to incorporate into the next lesson by asking the students to write the words and definitions along with a sentence using that word for remediation. You need to have your initial post by Thursday, July 6th. Between Friday and Sunday, reply to your peers asking questions about the lesson and the interactivity. Please also respond to this commenter”For an 9th grade Physical Education class, we have been learning about diet and nutrition. At this point in the lesson, we have learning about the food pyramid and the nutrients needed in a proper diet. Students have learned what is needed in a proper diet as well as examples of proper meals. I would like to use Nearpod so students can interact during the lesson. I would ask students to give me examples of a proper meal that they would enjoy. I can ask them questions throughout the powerpoint that will give them a chance to process what we talked about and they put it into their own perspective. At the end of the day, the goal is for students to understand how meals play an effect and how they can take this information and put it into their everyday lives. I can take the results and make sure that I covered the topics clearly. The results will help me know what I can move on from and what I need to revisit.”
