Write a 500+ Word Paper that Analyses a Work of Art in Relation to Critical Discourse
Analyze a work of art from course materials (lectures, discussions, readings, etc.).
Pdfs of all lecture slides are available on eLearn.
Be sure to include the artist, title, and date in your paper as well as an image of the artwork.
Incorporate a discussion of one or two critical concepts into your essay (i.e. an idea that comes from an academic source other than yourself).
You may chose to use course readings or conduct addition research using the UCR Library.
Use quotes and citations effectively:
Select one or two quotes that support your analysis.
Choose carefully: in 500 words, you must be focused and precise in order to address concepts and incorporate quotes effectively.

Assignment will be evaluated based on its demonstrated ability to:
Analyze works of contemporary art (incl. connections to critical discourse)
Apply an understanding of critical concepts in contemporary art
Analyze and form arguments with evidence
Interpret and apply academic texts
Provide accurate information (all relevant names, dates, titles, etc. must be correct)
