UCLA Discussion hoard post – Description
InstructionsFor this assignment, we are going to explore what governance looks like in action. When seeking examples of governance, it is easy to start locally. Think about what is happening in your own community. What stories are you seeing on the news in your city, region, or state? Have you been following a news story or situation in your community? If a news story features government or public servants, rest assured that governance is playing a role. There are several steps to completing this assignment:Find a news article or journal article detailing a public policy, a current event, or nonprofit situation where governance played a role (it can be at the local, state, or federal level). It could be an example of good governance, poor governance, or simply none at all. Post a link to your article (it can be text or video) and, in three or four paragraphs (approximately 300-500 words), tell us a. the role governance plays in the content you chose and b. the role of citizens involved in the governance example. You must reference at least one of the sources that we covered this week (Week Two).Read two other students’ articles and write-ups and provide them with feedback (approximately 150-250 words). Do you agree with their assessment of the role governance played? If not, why? Do you see another connection you can make between their public policy or public event and our course material? Please attempt to respond to posts that others have not done so yet.
