If you have not taken this exam, and do not know anyone who has, how do you think you would do? Do you think this test is fair? Why or why not? What other assessments might be useful instead of these types of tests?

Choose one of the following topics, skim the article
Brief History of US Immigration(25 pages, including diagrams/charts)
Amnesty or Abolition?: :Felons, illegals, and the case for a new abolition movement (13 Pages)
Criminalizing Migration(11 Pages)

Part 2: Reflection

In 150 words, reflect on the article.
Which article did you choose? What did you learn? What surprised you about what you learned? What do you think the average American resident knows about immigration? Does this knowledge/lack of knowledge impact people’s beliefs? Notate anything you think is important.

Part 3: Review Materials

Go to the Migration Policy Institute Website.
Choose one of the pages (with maps and graphs and diagrams etc)
Try to make sense of the visuals.
Skim the authority that Presidents have regarding immigration policy, from the National Immigration Law Center

Part 3: Reflection

In 150 words, write about the following:

What do you see or notice about the trends? What do you think it means? What are the implications? Describe anything you think is important.
Does anything here surprise you? What exactly is in the president’s authority to do? Do you know how presidents compare regarding their immigration policies? Notate anything you think is important.
