This class activity is based the court dances of the late 16th and 17th centuries. This included the codification of the five ballet positions and the outrageous mannerism and affectations of court life complete with costumes and props. Patterns and formations as well as intricate steps made up these court “dances of the folk”. Construct a dance that includes many of these components along with the intrigue that was woven into this scene.
