5-7 page essay (standard 10 or 12 point font) that applies the Greek Triangle (Logos, Ethos, and Pathos) to ONE (not all three!) of the following topics:
Compare/contrast one scene from the novel with one or more screen adaptation(s).
What rhetorical choices did the director make to adapt the novel to a visual medium?
How effective were those choices?
Discuss the moral/ethical “message” dimension of the novel. What arguments) about unbridled ambition and/or the ethical limits of science and learning? How effectively does the author use rhetoric (logos/ethos/pathos) to make her argument(s)?
Analyze the arguments the creature makes to his creator. What rhetorical choices (logos/ethos/pathos) does he make? How effective are those choices in persuading his creator? -in persuading the reader?
Using evidence, support your argument in a rational and thoughtful manner. Make sure that your essay is typed and double-spaced, and follows proper MLA format.
Your essay should contain the following elements:
A creative title that tells your reader about your essay
An introductory paragraph that introduces: the topic, the novel & two peer-reviewed
sources that you will quote and cite in the body paragraphs (You need to quote and cite more than 2, but you should mention two in your intro. paragraph)
Body paragraphs that offer main points related to your thesis
Topic and concluding sentences that express YOUR main points and relate back to your thesis statement (avoid quotations in topic and concluding sentences)
Clear transitions between main points
Body paragraphs that include support for the claims you have argued
Textual evidence: At least 3-5 Peer-Reviewed Sources which are quoted and cited in your paper: at least once in each body paragraph
