To create a speech commemorating somebody who did something noteworthy You should define what it means for something to be noteworthy in your speech. The topic can be a wide range of people and their accomplishments can be diverse, so the decision is yours regarding who you commemorate.
Course Learning Objective:
Demonstrate the skills necessary to compose, create, and present informative and persuasive messages, with an emphasis on an extemporaneous delivery style.
Compose and present appropriate oral messages to diverse audiences in diverse contexts, including selection and use of supporting material and presentation aids, organizational structure, language choice, and delivery style.
Analyze, develop, and implement strategies to productively manage oral communication apprehension to minimize its impact on the message.
The Details:
Your speech length will be 5 minutes.
Your goal is to finish between 4:45 and 5:15.
Visual Aids: You may have 1 visual aid in the form of a photograph, illustration, or caricature of the person you are commemorating but this is not required.
Number of credible sources: 4
4 is the minimum, so feel free to include more if you need/want to.
You will need to write a full-sentence outline for your speech. This should include a full list of references and sources cited in your speech. Both the outline and reference sheet should be written in APA format. Outlines are due to Canvas before class starts on the day you deliver your speech.
Your outline should be completed and submitted to Canvas before the start of class on the day that you will present.
