The final project for this class is consists of creating an Infographic with two primary functions: a)
summarize the key points of your chosen theory and b) apply that theory to either a film of your
choosing or a specific social issue [you must choose a film that was not assigned]. For example: you
could do a) psychological theories and b) school shootings. Present the key arguments, people, etc.
of the psychological theories of crime and then apply psychological theories to explain how/why
school shootings happen. Final projects will only be accepted as a PDF. Specific details about the
final project will be available on a separate document with links to resources, formatting
requirements, etc.
Midterm Project Proposal:
About halfway through the course, you will submit a proposal of your final to be reviewed by
two (2) of your classmates. [This is an accelerated course; we are moving quickly. You may
need to look ahead on the syllabus to plan your topic.] This review process ultimately helps
you not procrastinate on the final and develop a better final paper. In that proposal, you
should have: the crime/social issue you plan to talk about and the theory you plan to use. A
successful proposal will have an outline of the social issue/film –Why is it important? Why did
you choose it? A summary (film) or overview of the issue. You should be laying the foundation
of what will become your infographic. Proposals will only be accepted as Microsoft Word
