Your final product will be a case study of a legal, regulatory, or compliance issue that a current company, industry, or organization faces, and it represents a summative assessment of how well you understand and can apply ethics and governance concepts. The paper culminates in a policy recommendations memo that you would offer on behalf of the company in question. The paper should be directed toward your desired career destination. For instance, if you hope to use your MBA to obtain a position in Sports Management, then develop your paper about a legal challenge or ethical problem involving Sports Management. Here are the final paper requirements:

The case being used will be Dent v. NFL. A group of retired professional football players sued the National Football League (“NFL”) claiming that the league distributed controlled substances and prescription drugs to use them in violation of state and federal laws. The National Football League has been known to face several legal and ethical challenges with this. A common recurring challenge has been the unethical utilization of pain medication allowing players to sustain gameplay despite severe injuries. The case study should discuss the case the ethical and legal challenges the NFL faces, the issues, effects etc
You will need to submit:
Project 1: Governance and Ethics Case Study Description (>750 words)
case should represent an ethical challenge to an existing company, industry, or organization. The challenge should represent an emerging issue in your area of focus, however, you may also choose a historical case to analyze as well. Be sure that the case is complex enough for graduate study–you should be able to identify the organization and its challenge, but also laws and regulations that apply to the case, as well as ethical and public policy concerns.
Project 2: Legal and Regulatory Dimensions Draft (2-3 pages)
At this stage, you will be providing an overview of existing Federal Law, State Law for Pennsylvania (or your home state, if it is elsewhere), and any Federal Regulations that impact your case study. Your draft should be about 2-3 pages, double-spaced, in APA format. Start with a journalistic approach: what are the laws and regulations, and when were they enacted? How have they impacted the company, industry, or organization already, and what measures have already been put in place to assure legal and regulatory compliance? This section should be as factual as possible
Project 3: Policy Recommendations Memo Draft (2-3 pages).
This is an internal memorandum for your specific company or organization under study–address it to all employees (or volunteers, if you are studying an organization that relies on them). What specific actions should happen as a result of your study? Briefly explain the case and its legal, regulatory, ethical, and social dimensions, and then establish new guidelines for employee behavior. In constructing your memo, consider how what you’ve learned about the case should challenge existing practices in impact employee-to-employee interaction, employee-to-vendor interaction, employee-to-customer interaction, or other relationships. The majority of your memo should focus on establishing and providing rationale for 2-3 solid guidelines to help employees or volunteers act ethically, responsibly, and legally within the context of this development.
