SSU Evaluate the Ethical Consequences of A Choice Case Paper – Description
In your paper, you will respond to the ethics case (file titled: ethics situation for final paper).
You will respond to the ethics case, using the PowerPoint and readings from Week 6- Information Ethics and any other research you wish to do to support your decision.
In your paper:
• Clearly state the ethical issue for the journalist and/or the publication.
• Use the decision-making steps in the Principles of American Journalism reading to reach your decision. Clearly state the ethical issue and your decision at the beginning of the paper.
• Tell how you used the steps to reach your decision. Obviously, some steps might be more difficult to do because of the limited information you have. For example, with step six, brainstorm and analyze, you would suggest the people you could brainstorm with about the issue.
• Explain as specifically as possible what you would do in each step. For example, in step one, you should identify and describe any biases you have that you would need to work through to be able to approach the decision as objectively as you can. Support each step with information from the readings and additional research you choose to do.
