SSC 200 University of Dayton Online Harassment for Women Presentation – Description

record a current events presentation.
1.   In brief, what are the most important details of this case?  And why should we care?
2.   Thinking theoretically, of what is this an instance of?  How can we apply our three disciplines (sociology, economics, and political science) to better understand this case?
3.   Thinking critically, what sorts of issues, actors, perspectives, or historical facts has the media left out in covering this event? What are some of the biases in how the story was told?  In other words, what questions still need to be asked in understanding the breadth and depth of this particular global phenomenon?
4.   Making connections: How can you tie this current event to recently assigned readings? Pull in the visual data mapping in the Women’s Atlas.
In drawing on the Women’s Atlas, you should focus on trends, patterns and anomalies.
Consider what is most striking and/or surprising

Provide context for how the data relates to your current event, what could this mean for the event, or could the event mean for women?
The current event chosen should be one that has been covered by the news within the previous 6-12 months; the more recent the better. Post your recorded presentation by June 22nd, then watch your peers’ presentations and pose questions for them between 6/22 and 6/23. Respond to the questions you were asked between 6/24 and 6/25
