Introduction
Social work practice is informed by theory. Understanding social work theories helps social
workers make sense of people’s experiences, recognise the impact of social systems and
inequality, and respond in ethical and effective ways.
This task is designed to help you explore key social work theories and understand how they
can be applied when working with individuals and families affected by domestic and family
violence (DFV).
