SDSU Leading Intelligence Organization Essay – Description
Reflect on your experience with a change in your professional life. Briefly describe it, identify your role in the change (were you a leader? a follower? both? an outside observer?). What principles of leadership did the leader (whether you or someone else) apply in leading the organization through the change? What challenges did the leader face? How did the “followers” engage? If you knew then what you know now, what would you have done differently (or recommended to others)? Note: In discussing “principles of leadership,” avoid naming models. Rather, discuss the underlying principle(s) of leading (e.g., establishing and maintaining open communications, fostering transparency, incorporating dissenting voices, etc., etc., etc.) and the actions (i.e., the methodologies, protocols, procedures) the leader took to convey those principles.
