Introduction and Alignment There are those in this class that have read large portions of the Bible before and read it regularly. There are others in this class that may have limited experience with the Bible. While this is not a Bible class, the Bible is essential to Christian faith and life and the reason we spend significant time with it during the first week of the class. As we approach the Bible often people read it to gather or seek information. While reading for information is important as we study the Bible, it is also important to read it formationally. What does it mean to read the Bible formationally? It means that we are open to allowing it to not just inform us, but to form our Christian faith and life. Upon completion of this assignment, you should be able to: Reflect on the practice reading the Bible formationally.
