Research at least two reasons for this decline and describe them in detail.
For your reply, based on your classmate’s post do you think marriage rates will continue to fall? Why or why not?:

Changing societal norms and values: Over the years, societal norms and values around marriage have evolved. Traditional notions of marriage as a societal expectation or a prerequisite for starting a family have become less rigid. Individuals now have more choices and opportunities to pursue education, careers, and personal goals before considering marriage. This shift in societal values towards individualism and personal autonomy has contributed to a decline in the perceived necessity or urgency of marriage.
Economic factors and financial considerations: Economic factors play a significant role in the decline of marriage rates. Financial stability and economic security are often important considerations for individuals contemplating marriage. Economic challenges such as rising costs of living, student loan debt, and economic uncertainty can delay or deter individuals from getting married. Financial concerns and the desire to establish a solid financial foundation before entering into marriage have influenced the decisions of many individuals.
Relationship alternatives and changing family structures: The availability of alternative relationship options and changing family structures has also impacted marriage rates. Cohabitation, or living together in a romantic partnership without being married, has become more socially acceptable and prevalent. Some couples may choose cohabitation as an alternative to marriage, as it provides flexibility and avoids the legal and financial commitments associated with marriage. Additionally, the acceptance and recognition of diverse family structures, such as single-parent households, same-sex relationships, and blended families, have expanded the options individuals have in forming committed relationships.”
