Background Information

Now that you have a solid comprehension of project initiation and the charter, you will create a project charter for your integrative project. In your charter, you will include a problem statement that solidifies the business case for your project—why is it valuable to your organization? What business need or problem does the project fulfill or solve? Additionally, you will provide an overview of the project, along with its high-level deliverables—what will the project produce? You already have identified and considered the needs of your stakeholders—include this list of stakeholders in the charter. Include any timeline or budgetary requirements of your project in addition to highlighting any imposed constraints (restrictions) or risks (concerns) that you anticipate. Finally, outline success criteria for your project and name yourself as the “Project Manager,” as this document gives you to commence project planning activities.
