Problem Statement:

Telehealth expands access to healthcare services, especially for individuals in rural or underserved areas who may have limited access to medical facilities(Juhra,2023). However, telehealth’s potential in health management faces challenges despite promising outcomes, hindering its widespread adoption. Overcoming these obstacles is crucial to fully utilize telehealth’s benefits in healthcare access and patient outcomes.

Critical Analysis 1:

Presently, the regulatory environment for telehealth differs significantly among states and countries, encompassing variations in licensure prerequisites, reimbursement guidelines, and scope of practice provisions(Saeed,2021). This diversity poses a challenge, leading to a disconnect between providers and patients. Regulatory inconsistencies impede telehealth adoption and hinder interoperability across healthcare systems.

Critical Analysis 2:

Telehealth reimbursement policies exhibit variability across different payers, resulting in ambiguity and irregularity concerning reimbursement rates and coverage(Saeed,2021). Regrettably, insufficient reimbursement discourages providers from offering virtual care choices and restricts patient access to remote healthcare services.

Critical Analysis 3:

Apprehensions regarding data privacy and security dissuade certain patients and providers from utilizing telehealth services, especially for sensitive medical matters(Saeed,2021). These concerns stem from perceived risks associated with data breaches and unauthorized access, eroding trust in telehealth platforms and impeding their broad acceptance.
