Discussion Prompt: What Nonprofits Can Learn from For-Profit Companies
Because a nonprofit looks to create a positive religious, social, or environmental impact and not make a profit at what they are doing, they often do not accurately think of the cost it will take to accomplish their goals.
At the beginning of the course, it was stated that nonprofits have a double bottom-line of positive financial and social returns. A nonprofit should seek to be as cost effective as possible, especially with the limited resources that are so common in the nonprofit world.
As you look into the activities of your project it is important to consider the different ways and methods that can be employed. As Christians, we want to also maintain high moral and ethical standards in what we do. In light of this, there are several things that nonprofits can learn from how for-profits have accomplished their missions.
