Mock Congress Project Each of you will play the role of a US Senator. You must choose a Senator (Patty Murray from Washington, DC) The Senate will be debating the Assault Weapons Ban of 2023. Each Senator must do two things: Read and understand The Assault Weapons Ban of 2023. (ATTACHED) Please note: while the bill is 126 pages long, the vast majority of it (from pages 26-122) is a series of lists of names of weapons. You do not need to know or memorize that list. You should focus, instead, on the first 26 pages of the bill, and the final pages at the end. Write a statement Against the bill. For this statement, each Senator must decide Not to support the bill.
