Thinking about the U.S. Candy Industry and using the analytical framework developed by Porter in his Five Forces Model:
1. Define the boundaries of the US Candy Industry using the guidelines in the Teaching Note on Industry Analysis found under this topic and the information provided by Michael Porter in Chapter 7 of Competitive Strategy. Specifically, is the US Candy Industry one monolithic industry, or should the industry be considered two (or more) separate industries based upon Porter’s scope of product and geographic scope criteria?
