PLEASE NOTE the language that is used in the directions – the paper starts with a question related to being a Human Service PROFESSIONAL (not a leader) – which should be a generic discussion of the attributes needed to be successful in this area in general. Later in the paper it drills down into skills needed to be a successful TEAM LEADER – that is the place to discuss leadership.

Describe the attributes of effective human services professionals.
Explain the qualities that enable a human services professional to be effective in their job.
Explain how these qualities help the human services professional carry out their responsibilities and what this might look like on the job.
Evaluate the qualities or skills of a selected task force participant.
Identify the core skills needed for the task force leadership position.
Analyze the strengths and opportunities for development along with the experience of a selected candidate for the position.
Evaluate the current experience of the candidate to the required skills of the position.
Provide examples to support your evaluation.
Describe the qualities of an effective team leader.
Connect the qualities to diverse multidisciplinary interactions such as how to build relationships with faith-based organizations, service providers of ethnic groups, et cetera.
Include examples from your research and readings that validate the described qualities as essential ones.
Analyze how a leader facilitates the team.
Explain the areas of conflict or disagreement that might occur in the process of selecting the task force leadership position.
Describe ways a leader can create and foster a working environment that encourages open and respectful collaboration.
Describe strategies for the task force selection team to use if they have a disagreement about the selection.
