Houston Community College System Apple Inc Discussion – Description
At the beginning of the Chapter 6 lecture video I showed you a couple of mini-billboards I saw a while back, when the first iPad (9.56″ high by 7.47″ wide) was introduced a number of years ago:
What can you tell us about how Apple might be “messing” with our sense of perception with these ads?
A little research on the basic anatomy of the average person may help you answer this question.
If you agree that the images have been ‘doctored’ in some way, explain why this may have been done. For a better ‘grade’ explain why it doesn’t seem to matter that the “reality” of an iPad may not match what is depicted in these ads.
The fundamental questions you are answering are: Why did apple use this tactic? What was their main objective? And what is it about the iPad that makes this tactic work so well where other firms might fail when misleading the consumer in a similar manner.
Using the word “messing” implies Apple tried to deceive consumers, so make sure what you suggests is actually something misleading.
