HACC Implementing Replenishment Notifications Discussion Responses – Description

We have agreed that the business problem that we will focus on is the lack of inventory management for ClubIT. By addressing this issue, the business can save money of excess and wasted food, and prioritize the efficiency of managing the inventory they have and ordering new supplies before they are at 0.

To do this, the below business requirements are suggested.

Real-time Inventory Tracking: Enables accurate and up-to-date monitoring of inventory levels to make informed decisions about restocking and preventing overstocking and lack of inventory.

Automated Replenishment Alerts: Notifies managers when inventory reaches a minimum threshold, reducing the risk of shortages and improving operational efficiency.

Forecasting and Demand Analysis: Analyzes sales data and market trends to anticipate future inventory needs, optimizing inventory levels and minimizing excess stock.

Inventory Categorization and Organization: Establishes a logical system to label and organize inventory, simplifying item location and facilitating accurate tracking and reporting.

Integration with POS System: Ensures automatic and real-time updates of inventory levels when sales occur, minimizing errors and providing a comprehensive view of stock availability.

Reporting and Analytics: Provides detailed insights into inventory performance, enabling data-driven decisions, optimizing inventory allocation, and identifying areas for improvement.

If we as the IT team are allowed to implement these requirements in support of the inventory management problem, the company will be equipped with the tools that will improve inventory tracking, control, reduce costs, enhance customer support and services, and increase operational efficiency of ClubIT.

After looking over the different posts and seeing all the business problems that could be fixed by information technology it seems that the inventory was the biggest problem that was is being faced by ClubIT. ClubIT is having a major inventory issue to where items that are not selling are over stocked and items that are selling are under stocked. This incident has happened on six different accounts in a month’s span. In order to fix this issue, there needs to be an inventory tracking system in place for when an item is ordered. The tracking system will keep track of it in the system and when the items reach a certain point an order is placed. In order to prevent overspending a notification alert will be sent to the owners and managers to be approved and then the order is placed. Also, to help with spending Lisa and Ruben the owners want trend data to be sent to them as well. There are many things that can be included in the trend data that is sent to them like time of day, season, and sporting events. This can help them to prepare for the future and already have an item in stock when it starts to become popular. What will also be helpful is setting certain dates for certain items for when they are popular. Like when it is summertime, and a certain item is popular have dates like June till August set for those items. This will help having seasonal items in stock when they are needed and when they are not needed.
