Regular exercise and physical activity can significantly reduce the risk of acquiring several health problems in middle-aged persons. Regular exercise can aid in treating and preventing cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes, two at-risk health conditions. Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death worldwide. Regular physical exercise can help prevent and treat CVD by improving cardiovascular health, decreasing blood pressure, boosting cholesterol levels, and reducing the risk of developing heart disease (Cium?rnean, et al., 2022). Type 2 diabetes, which affects roughly 400 million people worldwide, is a significant health concern. Regular exercise can help prevent and treat type 2 diabetes by improving insulin sensitivity, controlling glucose levels, and reducing the risk of acquiring the disease (Seidu, et al., 2021).
As a nurse, I would collaborate with patients to create a tailored fitness program that considers each person’s requirements, objectives, and physical limits. I would employ a motivational interviewing technique to learn about the patient’s objectives, challenges, and reasons for exercising to obtain their cooperation. In addition, I would educate them on the advantages of regular exercise and how it may help them prevent and control their medical disorders. In addition, I would advise them to include physical exercise in their daily routine by parking further away from their destination or using the stairs rather than the elevator. This can dramatically lower the likelihood of acquiring and managing various health issues (Seidu, et al., 2021).
