Questions
According to Chapter 1, are health issues public issues, or are they individual concerns?
Using the sociological perspective as a means to examine social patterns as discussed in Chapter 1, compare health as a public issue versus an individual concern, and give examples of at least two health-related issues from each of these perspectives.
In this comparison, explain how a sociologist would see health and health care response as a public issue compared to an individual concern.
For example, is depression an individual concern, or is it a public issue to be remedied at a societal level (you can use this as one of your examples)?
