Educators select effective instructional materials that will benefit and engage diverse students. However, the social, cultural, educational, economic, and changing demographics are crucial components that serve the conceptual framework of diversity. Given these changes, diversity refers to a basic variation in traditions, values, beliefs, language, customs, rituals, and institutional structures (Fernandez et al., 2022). For example, the cultural, familial, sociological, and economic forces can tremendously impact how students learn and perform inside the classroom. However, educators must make the effort to embrace their student’s ethnic identities, uniqueness, and cultural diversity, and respect their values. Another perspective is the inclusive pedagogies in higher education informed by needs common to all learners and unique individuals (Stentiford & Koutsouris, 2021). Most importantly, educators must build a rapport with their students, and create a safe learning environment for their students. Validated and effective instructional approaches to implement a diversity of cultures with engaging activities. This will require educators to be consistent and committed to appropriately differentiating instructional activities to meet the needs of all students. Ideally, maintaining and respecting every student by practicing cultural sensitivity, embracing their uniqueness, and implementing diversity in learning activities are some ways educators can promote various cultures inside the classrooms. One way I can effectively assist faculty dealing with diversity is to carefully explore relevant resources that provide safe educational strategies for diverse learners to be academically successful.
