ECE 465 Grand Canyon University Clinical Field Experience C: Observing Co-Curricular Lessons – Description
With increased focus on reading, writing, and math, time for teaching social studies concepts has decreased. Luckily, social studies concepts can be easily integrated into the other areas of the curriculum.Allocate at least 3 hours in the field to support this field experience.Observe your mentor teacher providing instruction on a social studies concept. During the observation, take note of instruction and assessment practices that promote positive relationships and supportive interactions as the foundation of the instructional delivery. In addition, observe how other content areas are integrated into social studies instruction, and how the cross-curricular instruction enhances student learning of social studies concepts.Provide examples from your observations of cross-curricular instruction and the effect this had on student learning. How will you apply what you have learned to future instructional planning?
