Assessment Details and Instructions
This reflective assessment invites you to critically examine your learning journey throughout the
unit on community development and advocacy. It challenges you to explore how your
understanding of key concepts has evolved and reflect on the process of designing a funding
proposal. You are also encouraged to reflect on the core values of social work and how these
principles informed your decision-making throughout the proposal process. By integrating
personal insights with professional frameworks, this assessment aims to deepen your capacity
for ethical, inclusive, and sustainable practice in community settings.
Instructions:
Respond to each of the following questions in a clear, thoughtful, and well-structured manner.
Use specific examples from your experience in the unit to support your reflections. Aim for depth
over breadth, and demonstrate how theory, practice, and values intersect in your work. You have
7 minutes to share this with the larger group as a part of in-class community of practice activity.
Reflection Questions:

  1. How did your understanding of community development and advocacy evolve throughout
    the unit?
  2. What challenges did you face in designing your funding proposal, and how did you address
    them?
  3. What social work values guided your decisions, and how did you apply them?
