This assignment is worth significant grade points so don’t wait until the day it is due. As you read the chapters and work through the study guide, begin drafting the discussion sections. This assignment can be fun and easy because you get to choose the things that you enjoyed reading about and stood out to you.
Do not copy or take short cuts. Do not simply cut and paste sentences from the internet, or from classmates. Do your own work and explain your work. Reference any sources used.
Respond to classmates. Reply to at least two classmate’s discussion papers. When replying to a classmate, include their first name and your first name. SECTION 1 ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS
SECTION 1: related to MODULE 4 – refer to Ch. 9 Lifespan; Ch. 12 Social Psychology readings
Developmental theories. Read about Jean Piaget’s theory on Cognitive Development, and Erik Erikson’s theory on Psychosocial Development. These theories reveal how children’s understanding about themselves and their environment change as they grow and move through different developmental stages. For example, movies, toys, games and books for children and adolescents include guidance about whether the item is ‘age appropriate’. Have you ever wondered what that means? Or have you ever wondered why a two-year-old wants to pour the juice on their own and that it might be important to let them try. Developmental theories help us understand that our early experiences shape and influence us throughout our life.
