Demonstrate your understanding of the process management of operating systems. Write an essay explaining the aspects of process management by an operating system listed below. Use examples to explain your reasoning.
Discuss what a process is, as well as the inner workings and states.
Explain threads, including how they relate to a process.
Explain why scheduling is necessary and how it is accomplished.
Then, explore types of file systems and directories. Explain at least two different allocation methods you would consider to keep track of files on disk blocks. Then, discuss which allocation method you prefer and why. Discuss a method you can utilize to keep track of free blocks. Explain how you would use file backups.
