BUS 390 GCU Introduction and Regional Identification Presentation – Description
Select three countries, ideally from different regions of the world, to analyze (excluding the United States). Reference the “World Regions and Countries” document for guidance on the various regions in the world and the designated countries within each region.
Using the globalEDGE (https://globaledge.msu.edu/) Website, navigate to the Global Insights tab and select By Country to find information about your selected countries. Note: You will need to utilize additional resources to complete your research and analysis.
In a PowerPoint presentation (15-20 slides), conduct and apply your research to answer the following questions.
Provide an introduction of the three countries and identify the region where each country is located. Describe the drivers and effect of colonization within each of the countries.
Discuss how the three aspects of globalization (economic, political, and sociocultural dimensions) influenced the level of economic development for each country.
Discuss the pros and cons of globalization of business within each country.
Identify a significant multinational corporation (MNC) (that originated in another country) that is unique in each of the selected countries. Justify why the multinational companies entered the countries. What challenges did they face? What opportunities did they encounter?
Identify two significant multilateral world organizations in which each country participates and describe the effect on each of the three countries.
Identify the significant free trade agreements and trade blocs of each country.
Review the Trade Statistics section in globalEDGE and describe the trade partners and major export/import goods for each country. Among the trade partners, how do you think the exchange rate will influence trade?
Conclude your presentation with a brief justification for why you have selected each of the countries. Consider providing a fun fact about each country that is of interest to you.
