1st
I am constantly affected by different laws, especially when being exposed to people who break laws constantly. The laws that have affected me in the past 24 hours has been D.U.I, Ga Hands Free, and driving over the posted speed limit.
As a law enforcement officer, I am always conscious of different laws in my every day activities, although I make a conscious decision not break the law, I am upheld to upholding and enforcing the law.
Just hours prior to writing this very sentence, I worked an auto collision that was a result from drinking while driving, speeding and violating Ga Hands Free Law. Laws are passed for several reasons, and one particular- reason the laws I have listed were passed was to SAVE LIVES.
Its two choices people can make, GOOD ONES AND BAD ONES, and getting behind the wheel of a vehicle is a bad one, especially with so many options out there for you to get home safety. (UBER, TAXI, LYFT, FAMILY and FRIENDS)
Driving under the influence and speeding is very dangerous and driving under the influence speeding and texting while driving is in my opinion insane. A good way to enforce the listed laws is to be proactive, road safety checks, enforcement banners/billboards, POLICE VISIBILTY.
D.U.I law was passed to prohibit drivers from operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .08 percent or above, which is the standard limit throughout the U.S. The state of Ga has strict laws for drunk driving and when you drink and drive you risk your freedom, finances and future.
Ga Hands Free Law was passed so that drivers could no longer use their cellphones while in operation of a motor vehicle. The reason this law was passed was to reduce the number of fatalities. This law states all contact with the cellphone, even if you are just holding it in your hand, its considered distractive driving.
Speeding law was passed to reduce the amount of fatalities on the roadway.
A good way to enforce speeding is POLICE VISIBILITY, running radar, laser devices, portable radar speed signs, etc. By doing so, it reinforces speed limit awareness by alerting drivers of excessive speeds.

In the past 24 hours, I was affected by the following three separate laws:
Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act of 1938, which ensures that foods are safe, pure, wholesome, and made under sanitary conditions; that drugs are safe and effective for intended use; that cosmetics are safe and prepared from appropriate ingredients. This law is enforced by the FDA through random food, drug, and cosmetic inspections as well as through ensuring that products are informatively labeled and packaged. I believe this law is certainly a good idea as it protects the health and wellbeing of the consumer.
Clean Air Act of 1969, which provides for fuel/vehicle research to eliminate air pollution. This law is enforced through vehicle smog inspections and may vary among different counties and states based on population and air pollution levels. This law is a good idea as it protects the public health and addresses the welfare risks posed by certain widespread air pollutants.
Toy Safety Act of 1969, which protects children from hazardous toys due to presence of electrical, mechanical or thermal hazards. The main portion of the Act, which covers toys or games for children who are at least 3, requires labeling identifying possible choking hazards. This law is a good idea because children are the most prone population to injury, considering they have not had the knowledge or life experiences necessary to understand why something may harm them, and this law protects them.

Everyone wants to lose weight, look better, feel better and become healthier, including myself. We see advertisements practically every where advertising the body that we all want, at the simple fix of a pill. Some companies go as far as claiming there has been extensive scientific research. Unfortunately, some tend to fall victim because no one wants to put forth the effort and make the lifestyle changes needed to lose weight and become healthier. I personally feel, if it is too good to be true, then it is. A lot of the times the instructions still advise exercise and diet changes to see best results. The specifics that I would look for is, is it FDA approved? What are the ingredients? Any possible side effects? I would also consider having my physician give his professional opinion before consuming.
