From the perspective of a defense attorney, create a one paragraph opening statement to read to the jury—point out any facts that are good for your client’s (defendant’s) insanity defense that would satisfy one of the prongs or tests of the “M’Naghten Rule” or help prove one of the prongs or tests of the “M’Naghten Rule” as interpreted by the above Florida Statute and Jury Instructions. You must clearly articulate one of the facts of the case that you would bring to the attention of the jury at trial to help you satisfy the “M’Naghten Rule” requirements and prove your client’s insanity defense.
Remember to label your reply clearly that this fact you point out is good for a DEFENSE ATTORNEY and explain why.

Then, as a prosecuting attorney, create a one paragraph opening statement to read to the jury—point out any facts that are good for your case (i.e., that would DEFEAT the defendant’s insanity defense by revealing evidence that would cause one of the prongs or tests of the “M’Naghten Rule” or help dis-prove one of the prongs or tests of the “M’Naghten Rule”) as interpreted by the above Florida Statute and Jury Instructions. You must clearly articulate one of the facts of the case that you would bring to the attention of the jury at trial to help you defeat the “M’Naghten Rule” requirements and prove that the defendant was not insane under this rule.
