ARU Assessing Your Diet Project – Description

For this activity, you will use the diet analysis tool NutritionCalc Plus, available in Connect. Click here to launch NutritionCalc Plus, or access NutritionCalc Plus from your Connect course home page. (If you see a log-in screen for NutritionCalc Plus, enter your Connect email address and password.) Complete the Profile section.

Be sure to complete all portions of the activity. There are two parts, appearing on two separate screens. Once you complete all required content in a part, you will be able to move forward using the part navigation buttons at the top or bottom of the activity.

FOOD LOG

Complete the food log below. List all the foods you eat and drink in one full day and the serving size for each item (1/2 apple, 2 cups of pasta, 24 oz. Diet Mountain Dew, etc.). Make sure to include everything you drink, including water, soft drinks (even diet), coffee, alcohol, and so on.

Click “+ Row” (below and to the right of the table) to add as many rows to the log as needed for you to record a full day’s complete intake.

DIET ANALYSIS

Enter the information from your log into the “Intakes” section of NutritionCalc Plus. Once your food intake record is complete, click on the “Reports” section to assess your diet and identify areas where you do and do not meet the recommendations. Use these reports as part of your portfolio to see where you are meeting your goals and to identify diet areas that need improvement. You can also use NutritionCalc Plus to track your diet over time and follow any changes.
