Discussion Board Instructions
Please do not use attachments for discussion work.
Please just provide your responses in the dialog box available.
Please respond to each question with its own paragraph, separated from others, rather than one large paragraph.
Please always respond in your own words and do not use quotes from other persons or sources. Plagiarism needs to be avoided and will not be accepted.
Your work must give evidence of listening to my lectures by discussing the specific issues and information provided in them.
The only accepted content for use and/or citations for these discussions must come from the lectures, readings, and videos provided within each Module.
NOTE: The Rubric for Discussions in Posted in the Module under Welcome and Start Here.
REQUIRED listen to my lectures on these religions, as well as watch the videos posted in Readings and Resources of Module 3.
Then, in at least 500-700 words, answer all 3 of the following questions:
1. After listening to my lectures, state and briefly explain what you take to be at least three (3) main ideas found within each (9 total) of the following Western Religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. As an option, you can do the same with and discuss Zoroastrianism as well, in terms of its influence on the other 3.
2. Discuss which of these religions you find most interesting and briefly explain why.
3. In the Module 3 Readings and Resources, identify and watch any one of the videos and read any one of the readings for this section of the course (from the BBC or Khan website search engine on any of these religions) and discuss any four ideas/themes/things (two from any video and two from any reading) you found interesting and explain why you found them interesting.

Use only your own words as often as possible and avoid plagiarism (quotes should only be used sparingly)
Using the BBC: Religions, Khan Academy, and other online resources you choose, in at least 500-700 words, address BOTH of the following in your initial post:
1. Discuss any Religion NOT discussed in the previous discussions that you find interesting. Examples of those not covered in course material are the following: Basic/Primary African Religions (e.g, Yaruba); Eastern Religions (e. g., Jainism, Confucianism, Shintoism), Western Religions (e.g., Zoroastrianism), or any other religion not covered in course material (Discussions) but can be found on the BBC Religions list (e.g., Bahai) found in Course Resources. You may also choose to write about 20th/21st century religions or what some might consider cults (e.g., Scientology).
2. State and explain any three characteristics or beliefs and themes of this religion. Explain why you find it interesting and what you take to be positives and/or negatives of this religion.
