University of Southern California Learning Process Discussion – Description
Midterm week is a good time to take stock, look back and evaluate, and look ahead and make plans. This week, the discussion board prompt sets you up to do a metacognitive reflection, which means that you are asked to reflect on your own thinking and learning process.
Please answer the following three questions for full credit:
What learning strategies worked well for you over the past four weeks?
What learning strategies will you tweak in the second half of the semester?
Reflect on the value of studying history. Use the following questions to guide your reflection:
In what way do you feel that the study of history has been worthwhile in the first half of the semester? What have you gained? How have you developed through the study of history? You can answer this question by drawing on specific learning experiences (lightbulb moments, specific new insights) or you can answer is more broadly by addressing how having an understanding of history affects your outlook on the world.
